body type tips: pear shape

Leave a response ->

Being the youngest of four girls, I was told early on that I’m a pear shape. Apparently, when the women in my family gain weight, we gain it in our butt and thighs. To soften the blow of this hideous news, my mother told us that pear shaped women had a lower chance of getting heart disease. Um… that’s probably because we’re all literally running our “butts” off as a desperate attempt to eat away at the ‘pear’. The good news is, that beauties like Beyonce and JLO have made a big butt beautiful. Finally, a little relief. Although, not all of us think a big butt is beautiful. So, I have some tips on how to dress you pear shaped bod.
1. Show your tiny waist.
The upper part of a pear shape’s frame is much smaller than the bottom half. So, you want to accentuate your waist, but try to balance out the top and bottom.

2. Fuller skirts
A fuller skirt will minimize the look your bottom half. Luckily, a full/ Aline skirt is a feminine choice that will be in your closet forever.

  • 3. Denim should be fuller through the hip. A boot cut is a great option for a pear shaped girl, because the slight flare will balance out your hips.
